Councils of Religions
Welcome to the Federal Congress of Councils of Religions
In many places, councils of religions or similar structures have been formed (e.g., round tables of religions, forums of religions). Councils and round tables of religions strive to bring as many religious and ideological communities as possible into permanent dialogue. Councils of religions often also act as door openers for small communities and mediate in conflicts. The organizational forms of these bodies vary from place to place. They depend on factors such as the history of the body's origins, the local religious landscape, and the commitment of the actors involved. Typically, councils of religions connect religious communities, promote dialogue with local authorities and society, organize interfaith education and encounter events, comment on socio-political issues, organize peace prayers, and much more.
